I’m raising my teenage daughters to be
Much stronger than me.
To know their strengths, hold themselves in esteem,
To follow their dreams.
To know that happiness comes in many guises,
To get out and see the sunrises.
To stand up for themselves and each other,
To remember we’re stronger together.
I’ll speak with the benefit of hindsight,
Be honest and forthright.
Tell them to be who they want to be,
To not bow to pressure, like me.
To travel the world and have fun
And when all’s said and done
Don’t settle. Know your worth,
As I have known yours since your birth.
